2.4 - Admission, Progression and Certification
1. Admission Process
Unmul’s Admissions process are conducted through six pathways:
SNBP (National Selection Based on Achievement)
SNBT (National Selection Based on Written Examination)
SMMPTN (Independent Admission to Public Higher Education)
Cooperation, Special, and Achievement Programs
Affirmation, Sibling, and Relative pathways
Transfer and completion of Bachelor's program
Admissions for new students in Vocational, Professional, Specialist, and Postgraduate Programs are scheduled according to the academic calendar and coordinated by the Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs (BAK). The number of admitted students is determined by the program's capacity, considering factors like lecturer-to-student ratio and accreditation standards.
The admission process for Vocational and Bachelor's students requires completing administrative and financial procedures. This includes paying the tuition fee, registering through the Academic Information System (AIS) within a specified timeframe, and submitting required documents. For Professional Program students, the Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs (BAK) coordinates the registration process with the Faculty. Applicants must complete an online form, provide a diploma and academic transcript, and meet additional requirements. Successful applicants must pay the tuition fee, register via AIS, submit documents, pass the TPA examination, meet English proficiency requirements, and follow Faculty criteria.
Prospective Master’s students must register by paying a fee, filling out an online form, and providing a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.00 or two years of relevant work experience. They must also submit letters of recommendation and meet any additional requirements set by the Study Program. The selection process is administered by BAK and a Rector-appointed team, using interviews and document validation. After selection, candidates must complete administrative procedures, including tuition fee payment and registration.
Doctoral Program admission follows a similar process, with registration conducted by BAK in coordination with the Faculty or Postgraduate division. Applicants must pay a fee, complete an online form, and provide accredited academic transcripts. A minimum Master’s GPA of 3.25 is required, or a publication or two years of work experience for lower GPAs. Additional requirements include letters of recommendation and a dissertation research plan.
Foreign applicants are assessed using an adapted pathway that aligns with international standards. They must demonstrate equivalent academic credentials, language proficiency, and meet specific requirements for programs taught in English or Indonesian. The evaluation process is managed in collaboration with the UPT International Services Office to ensure compliance with immigration and study permit regulations. Successful candidates receive a Letter of Acceptance to facilitate study permit processing.
Following the submission of complete applications, the evaluation phase begins. The Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs (BAK) and a specialized team conduct the evaluation. This involves verifying academic credentials, reviewing supporting documentation, administering standardized tests, and in some cases, conducting interviews for Professional, Master’s, and Doctoral programs. The process also assesses program capacity, including lecturer-to-student ratio, facilities, and accreditation status, to ensure effective student support.
Successful candidates receive official admission confirmation directly from the Rector after the evaluation and selection process. This marks their transition to admitted student. In the enrollment phase, candidates must: - Pay tuition fees and fulfill financial obligations - Complete the final registration process through the Academic Information System (SIA) within the specified time frame - Submit any remaining documents These steps ensure a seamless transition into academic life at Unmul. Unmul's admission framework is inclusive, accommodating transfer and completion students. Transfer students must submit documentation, including a transfer letter, academic transcripts, and a conduct certificate. Completion students must provide evidence that their academic credentials meet the required standards, with provisions for recognizing transferred credits.
Unmul offers alternative admission pathways for candidates with exceptional achievements. These programs have separate regulations and tailored criteria that recognize outstanding performance or unique talents. Applicants may receive additional support or specialized evaluation procedures, ensuring their abilities are fully recognized. This approach attracts a diverse student body, enhancing the academic community with varied strengths and experiences.
